TSMC 2nm Chip Secrets Leaked; 3 Engineers Detained, Held Incommunicado

Nine engineers from TSMC (TSM.US) are suspected of leaking technology, and have been immediately dismissed, with three engineers detained and held incommunicado by the local court. The employees are accused of stealing trade secrets related to the Company's most advanced 2nm chip process.

A former engineer previously worked in TSMC's system integration department, according to Taiwanese media. After leaving TSMC, he joined Japanese chip equipment manufacturer Tokyo Electron (8035.JP) as an equipment engineer.
